Product Overview

Formlabs Tough 2000 Resin 5L
Whether you’re optimizing your manufacturing process, rapidly iterating through designs, or assessing form, fit, and function, Formlabs Engineering Resins are formulated to withstand extensive testing and perform under stress.
Tough 2000 Resin is the strongest and stiffest material in our functional family of Tough and Durable Resins. Choose Tough 2000 Resin for prototyping strong and sturdy parts that should not bend easily. Strong and stiff prototypes Jigs and fixtures requiring minimal deflection Simulating the strength and stiffness of ABS.
Key Specifications

The “2000” in the name represents the material’s tensile modulus. If you need a less stiff material, try Tough 1500 Resin or Durable Resin. Supports print resolutions: 100 and 50 microns. Post-curing required.
Tough 2000 Resin decreases the lifetime of resin tanks. Read more about Resin Tank LT lifetime and Form 3 Resin Tank lifetime.
Notice: Form 3 Resin Tank V1 is incompatible with Rigid, Grey Pro, Elastic, and Tough 2000 Resins. There are two versions of the Form 3 Resin Tank: Tank V1 and Tank V2. Read more about tank versions, lifetime, and maintenance in our support article.

Why Choose Tough 2000 Resin?
Tough 2000 Resin is a functional material that’s difficult to bend and will hold up with extended use.
Stiff and Sturdy
Produce strong parts with minimal deformation.
Resistant
Withstand intermittent or constant loads required of heavy-duty parts.
Aesthetic, Neutral Color
Parts printed on Formlabs SLA printers have the polish and finish of a final product.
Robust
Iterate with higher confidence and reduce brittle failures.

Applications
Tough 2000 Resin is ideal for rugged prototyping or simulating the strength and stiffness of ABS.
Consider Tough 2000 Resin for:
- Jigs and fixtures requiring minimal deflection
- Strong and stiff prototypes
- Manufacturing aids
- Housings and enclosures

Post-Processing
Form Wash Settings
10 minutes + 10 minutes in IPA
NOTES
Part surfaces may become tacky if washed in IPA with more than 5% resin concentration. Use fresh solvent if your parts remain tacky after washing. Parts with two wash times require two wash cycles. For the second wash cycle, use clean solvent. The first wash cycle removes the bulk of the resin, while the second cycle fully cleans the parts.
Form Cure Settings
60 min
70 °C
NOTES
For parts printed in an engineering-focused resin (such as those in the Rigid, Tough & Durable, and Flexible & Elastic families), post-curing ensures that the parts reach their optimal mechanical properties and can function as designed. There is only one recommended post-curing time for Tough 2000 Resin
